WE HEART ARKANSAS - My Home Sweet Home by Amy Simpson

We have been working on our annual MYCARDs art project.  This is where my students design art work that their families can choose to order into "note cards and envelopes" with their art printed on the front.  It is a fund raiser for the art program and I use the funds to purchase frames, canvases, materials for the art room.

And they are just super cute!  This year we are using my friend, teacher and author's book My Home Sweet Home & MY ARKANSAS for our literature piece.  It is written by Amy Simpson who lives in Jonesboro, AR  It is a personal book so you fill in the blanks to fit where you live on the map.  You can contact Amy directly by email at amy@arareading.org.  Amy also serves on the Arkansas Reading Association board with me.

You can use the company to do your own cards at www.mountaincolor.com

Catching Snowflakes...

I made the power point with the step by step for my sub to use one day when I had meetings...and she did a fabulous job with these kiddos!  I found several of these lessons on many blogs...but I gave credit in my power point to the ones I used.  Thanks for sharing bloggers.
You can use the power point in my power point authorstream spot on the bottom right of the blog.
